Heath Mitchell, SE, PE

President

Heath began his career as a licensed Structural Engineer and Professional Engineer by earning his bachelor's degree from Lehigh University and master's from Clarkson University in civil engineering.

Prior to rejoining GWY in 2014, Heath was the Director of Technical Assistance at the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) where he managed the Steel Solutions Center. In addition, he worked as a Project Manager with expertise in complex steel framing and lateral systems, structural steel detailing services, and structural design.

As the second generation of leadership, Heath remains active in the steel industry by volunteering his time as chairman of the Research Council on Structural Connections (RCSC) Technical Committee 4 – Installation, as Vice Chairman of AISC Technical Committee TC10 – Materials Fabrication and Erection, and as a member of the RCSC Specification Committee and AISC Technical Committee TC2 ‐ Editorial, Economy, Efficiency & Practical Use.
